Vitamin P and Desire Mapping

Start Mapping your Future!

Christmas and New Year for me has become a time to retreat and reflect.  Sometimes, mostly really, it doesn't fit comfortably with the rest of society's social calendar but that's what happens and I'm learning to go with it! A couple of years ago I came across the notion of Desire Mapping and this year it has become very clear to me that I need to have a map for my Future.  Basically you get in touch with your desires, that is how you wish to feel in life, and start mapping them into the various aspects of your life.

What are your core desires?
At my core it's to feel connected, happy, to feel that my life has purpose and meaning.
Surrounding these feelings we look at how our life is sectioned
LIFESTLYE - career, lifestyle, money, home
RELATIONSHIPS & SOCIETY - significant other, family, community, friends
SPIRIT/ESSENCE - our natural abilities, special talents, aspects of our character, the greater good
CREATIVITY AND LEARNING - self expression, development, embracing and expanding our uniqueness and doing all those things that we've "been meaning to do for years"
DEVOTION TO DESIRES - what are the little daily or regular practices that nurture those desired feelings? How do we structure them into our life so that they are kept topped up?

How about getting out a large sheet of paper, pencils, photos, images, glue scissors and starting to create your own map?  It will be a work in progress as you see more ways to fill your desires.
Get playful with it, put in random things that seem like a far off possibility now and see how they manifest themselves in your life as time passes.  It's fun and exciting and so long as you remain true to your core desires and integrity anything is possible.  You'll see!

Regarding Food and Wellness ask how the foods that you eat best contribute to your wellness and help you achieve your core desires.  As there is already lots written about Vitamin D I think of these desires as Vitamin P - for PLEASURE.  I'll write more about that later but for now HAPPY MAPPING for 2014 and beyond.
